چکیده
Background: There remains lack of data in regards to factors influencing successful endovascular reperfusion isolated occlusion the M2 segment middle cerebral artery (MCA). In this study, we set out investigate variables that affect occlusion. Methods: was defined as clot anywhere within MCA. A prediction model modified Thrombolysis Cerebral Ischemia (mTICI) score 2b, 2c and 3 unsuccessful mTICI 0, 1 2a developed from demographics (age, sex) , clinical (NIHSS at time presentation hospital), imaging characteristics (ASPECTS, ICA occlusion, presence Intracranial arterial disease (ICAD), computed tomography perfusion (CTP)-based ischemic core mismatch volume estimation), treatment (alteplase/tenecteplase use periprocedural complications) 64 patients who underwent thrombectomy (EVT) Kingston Health Science Centre between December 24, 2018 October 18, 2022. Results: The only statistical significant predictor CTP-based (smaller volume) (p<0.05). Conclusions: is most important for

Endovascular thrombectomy for the treatment of acute ischemic stroke.
UNLABELLED Few patients benefit from the current standard treatment for acute ischemic stroke (AIS), encouraging the development of new treatments. OBJECTIVE To systematically review the literature on the efficacy and/or safety of endovascular thrombectomy in AIS compared to standard treatment and to identify ongoing randomized controlled trials (RCTs). METHOD Searches for RCTs were perform...
متن کاملDifferences in Effectiveness among Devices for Endovascular Thrombectomy in Patients with Acute Ischemic Stroke
In the treatment of acute ischemic stroke, the proofs of effectiveness for endovascular thrombectomy have become more robust in recent times, but some questions remain on whether the effectiveness differs across different devices (e.g. Trevo, Merci, and Solitaire). In the absence of studies that have directly compared these devices with one another, comparative information relies on the results...
متن کاملGroin complications in endovascular mechanical thrombectomy for acute ischemic stroke: a 10-year single center experience
BACKGROUND The increasing utilization of balloon guide catheters (BGCs) in thrombectomy therapy for ischemic stroke has led to concerns about large-bore sheaths causing vascular groin complications. Objective To retrospectively assess the impact of large large-bore sheaths and vascular closure devices on groin complication rates at a comprehensive stroke center over a 10-year period. METHODS R...
متن کاملVisual Aids for Patient, Family, and Physician Decision Making About Endovascular Thrombectomy for Acute Ischemic Stroke.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Rapid decision making optimizes outcomes from endovascular thrombectomy for acute cerebral ischemia. Visual displays facilitate swift review of potential outcomes and can accelerate decision processes. METHODS From patient-level, pooled randomized trial data, 100 person-icon arrays (Kuiper-Marshall personographs) were generated showing beneficial and adverse effects of ...
متن کاملEndovascular Mechanical Thrombectomy for Acute Ischemic Stroke: A New Standard of Care
The treatment of acute ischemic stroke (AIS) in the setting of intracranial large artery occlusion (LAO) with intravenous tissue plasminogen activator (IV-tPA) is associated with low rates of recanalization and high rates of neurological morbidity and functional dependence. Endovascular intervention, particularly mechanical thrombectomy, is a promising therapeutic adjunct to IV-tPA for the trea...
